  The authors (painters, draughtsmen, 
    engravers and photographers) of 
 printed erotica are all driven onward 
 by the desire to attain the same goal 
   in the execution of their work - 
applying themselves and the methods of 
    their art to the limit of their 
    abilities to represent reality.

The attitude (negative or positive) of 
a scholar with respect to erotic art is 
    a sure-fire test of imbecility. 
  Unfortunately, the greater part of 
  those dealing with images are just 
           that, imbeciles.

If God exists, may He save society from 
     leaders who condemn eroticism. 
There is no surer way to determine that 
  one is dealing with a fascist or a 
 communist, no matter what name such a 
           leader goes by.

 Whenever  secular morality or culture, 
  or especially those men who call 
 themselves "revolutionaries" have 
lamentably gained control of political 
      power, they have inevitably 
criminalized the symbols and images of 
              eroticism.

  In the depths of his or her obtuse 
 consciousness, the despot recognizes 
  eroticism as the most powerful and 
 efficient symbols of the opposition. 
    The hypocritical persecution of 
"pornography", conducted out of fear of 
    the masses, is no more than the 
disguised means for actively defending 
           one's own power.

      Despite their positions as 
    unreconcilable adversaries, the 
19th-century movement of the dictators 
who called themselves "family fathers" 
in capitalistic countries, and the later
 20th-century fathers of the workers in 
   socialist countries, who called 
 themselves "atheist revolutionaries", 
 had a tacit agreement in defining the 
spread of erotic imagery throughout the 
 .. masses as "pornographic gangrene".
